- Wash and soak basmati rice. Keep aside.
- Soak chickpeas overnight. Boil till soft. Drain and keep aside.
- In a bowl take all the ingredients of marination.Mix.
- Add boiled chickpeas,mix and keep in fridge for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a vessel.Fry sliced onion till golden brown.Take out and keep aside.
- Add whole spices in the remaining oil.Saute for 1 minute.
- Add marinated chickpeas,mix.Add salt and tomato cut into 4 pieces.
- Cover the vessel and cook on medium -low flame for 3-4minutes.
- After 3-4 minutes open the lid and add basmati rice,mix well.Add whole green chillies.
- Add 3 cups hot water,cover the lid and cook on medium flame for 3 minutes.
- After 3 minutes stir once the rice,cover the lid and lower the flame.And further cook till rice is soft.It will take 4-5minutes.
- Open the lid,stir gently the pulao.Put off the flame.
- Cover and lid and leave for 5 minutes.Now kabuli chana pulao is ready to serve.
- Garnish with fried onion.Serve hot with raira /salad.
