  1. Devein and clean the prawns with turmeric powder. Wash and soak Basmati rice for 30 mins. Slice the onions, chop tomato and pudina, slit green chilies.
  2. In a pan heat oil. Add in whole garam masala and saute until aromatic. Add sliced onions, slit green chilies and fry till onions are translucent.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and fry until raw smell goes away. Add chopped tomato, coriander leaves and pudina leaves. Saute and cook until tomatoes soften.
  4. Add spice powders, salt and saute well. Add cleaned prawns and coat well with masala.
  5. Add beaten curd and mix well. Once it starts bubbling, add warm water and let it come to a boil.
  6. When the water is boiling add drained rice. Check for salt and cook until most water is absorbed.
    Cover with a lid and put the pan on hot tawa and dum it on low flame for 8-10 mins. Let it rest for 10 mins before opening the lid.
  7. Gently fluff up the rice not to break the grains.
  8. Shrimps biryani is ready to be served hot with raita and salad.
